Accessibility

Accessibility Statement.

How this website is designed for everyone, including users of assistive technology.

Our commitment

Pelotita is committed to making this website accessible to as many people as possible, including users with visual, hearing, motor, or cognitive impairments. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

What this means in practice

We have designed and built this site with the following accessibility features:

Keyboard navigation

  • All interactive elements (links, buttons, form fields, FAQ accordions) can be reached and operated using only the keyboard
  • A "skip to main content" link is provided at the top of every page
  • Focus indicators are clearly visible when navigating with the keyboard

Screen readers

  • Semantic HTML is used throughout (proper headings, landmarks, lists)
  • All images have descriptive alternative text
  • Interactive elements have appropriate ARIA labels where helpful
  • Form fields have associated labels
  • Status messages (e.g. form submission outcomes) are announced

Visual design

  • Text colour contrast meets WCAG AA standards (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text)
  • Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of functionality
  • The site is fully responsive and works at narrow widths (320px and above)
  • Touch targets meet the 44 by 44 pixel minimum recommended by mobile accessibility guidelines

Motion and animation

  • The client logo marquee respects the prefers-reduced-motion browser setting and pauses for users who have configured their device to reduce motion
  • The marquee also pauses on hover and on focus for keyboard users
  • No essential information is conveyed by motion alone

Known limitations

We aim for full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, but acknowledge the following areas where we are still improving:

  • Client logo marquee: while the marquee respects reduced-motion preferences and pauses on hover or focus, the continuous animation may still be distracting for some users with vestibular conditions. A user-controlled play/pause button is on our roadmap.
  • Hero diagram: the embedded image on the homepage conveys a visual contrast between disorganised and structured systems. The alt text describes the concept, but the diagram itself is not interactive and may be information-dense at small screen sizes.
  • Case-study metric tiles: on the smallest screen sizes (below 480px), the dense layout of metrics may require careful reading.

How to report accessibility problems

If you experience any difficulty using this website, or have suggestions for improving its accessibility, please email info@pelotita.co.uk. We take accessibility feedback seriously and aim to respond within five working days.

Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on 25 June 2026 and reflects an internal assessment of the website's accessibility. The site has not yet been independently audited.

The site is tested against WCAG 2.1 AA using a combination of:

  • Browser developer tool audits (Lighthouse, axe DevTools)
  • Manual keyboard navigation testing
  • Screen reader testing (NVDA on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS)

Enforcement

The accessibility of UK websites is regulated by the Equality and Human Rights Commission. If you are unhappy with the response to your accessibility report, you may contact them.
